What's published alongside the writing — the routines, the constraint system, and the full revision history — and where to find it.
The Value Forge intends to publish more than its writing. Alongside every signal, synthesis and monthly review, the system that produced it is meant to be public too: the routines that surface and translate evidence, the constraint contract that governs what may be claimed and how it must be labelled, the pattern register’s full dated history, and the site’s own source code.
This is not a marketing position. It follows directly from the static-copy and honesty rules this site holds itself to elsewhere: a claim is only as good as the discipline that produced it, and that discipline should be checkable, not just asserted.
What “open source” means here
- The method, not just the output. The routines and constraint system that decide what gets published and how it’s labelled are the thing worth scrutinising — not only the finished articles.
- The revision history. Every correction, every pattern-register update, every dated change is preserved and public, not quietly overwritten.
- The code, under CC BY 4.0. The site’s own source is licensed for reuse — see the Legal page for the exact terms, including the one thing that isn’t a licence condition but a request: don’t replicate this for profit, name the source, and carry the honesty rules forward.
- What it doesn’t mean. Open source is not a claim of neutrality, and it isn’t a substitute for the independence statement on the Method page — the source being visible doesn’t change who wrote it or why.
